While this site is being built out, here are a few examples of fun projects I’ve been grateful to produce.
The Leadership
Escape Game
The Leadership Escape game was developed in Articulate Storyline 360 as part of a dissertation study. The game delivered content from a leadership training and offered opportunities for players to practice using escape game mechanics.
You Have One Hour:
Escape the coatd session
For a Central Ohio Association of Talent Development Conference, I built this demonstration of escape games in the classroom.
My dissertation focuses on the potential of escape games as a training activity
Escape the Park
My daughter and I are escape room enthusiasts. For Mother’s Day we each created an escape game/puzzle hunt for each other.
The game I designed brought her to a local park where she engaged in learning about the park’s history, art, and nature preservation efforts. Though just a game, we learned a lot about this park. More park-based games are certain to come soon.
Intersection of Vyond and Tiktok
I needed to learn Vyond quickly, but I didn’t have a work project. In a creative effort to build skill, I used TikTok sound bites to build 15 - 45 second Vyond animations. With this approach, I was able to learn camera motion, scene transition, character movement, props, backgrounds, and captions. The goal was NOT to be perfect. The goal was to isolate my skill development with Vyond tools.
Here are a couple examples:
Mission: Field Training
Your mission, should you choose to accept…
The Mission: Field Training project brought together 84 trainers from 14 states and 25 different locations whom previously had not worked together at an enterprise level.
The goals of the project were to build relationships with new team members, create awareness of the resources available, and develop skills, such as facilitation, classroom management and individual goals.
ARISE:
An Online ExperiencE
ARISE (Anti-Racism, Inclusion, Support, Education) invites visitors to a museum-like experience where they can explore topics, such as microaggressions and implicit bias, in a safe space. ARISE engages visitors with interactive exhibits, videos, and activities to reflect on these topics.
New Hire
Progress Report
The New Hire Progress Report project reduced administrative time by 50% based on a multi-class time study. Leadership also benefited from the tool as they could get a progress snapshot of all the new hire classes in the organization. The tool decreased administrative time, increased visibility, and received great feedback from all stakeholders.
No Code Exploration
Recently I began exploring the No Code realm. I joined the #100DaysofNoCode community. Towards the end of the year, I paused my progress, but will be starting up again soon.
